Development of a lesson for grades 5–6 on the topic “Unselfishness”

Distinctive characteristics of a selfish person

A self-interested person is interested in politics only from the financial side and the position of power. Anyone who is inherently self-interested will not try for the good of the people, only for the sake of his own interest. His attention is attracted by the exchange rate of the dollar and euro, as well as profitable investments and investments in foreign projects. He never sits still and is constantly looking for ways to make money. Selfish people are not familiar with laziness - this can be attributed to the positive qualities of people who have such a character trait.

Selfishness is inherent in everyone, but the sense of guilt and pity for others in a selfish person is atrophied. Unfortunately, today there are no opportunities or techniques to get rid of this character trait. This means that self-interest accompanies a person throughout his life. Psychological help can only provide motivation for change.

What is Selflessness?

Selflessness is a personality trait and the demonstrated ability to bring good and benefit to people without expecting personal benefits in return.

Manifestations and properties of Selflessness
The simplest manifestation of Selflessness is through donations. Unselfishness is the antithesis of self-interest or self-interest. A real selfless person, when he has done something kind and good to people, knows this extraordinary, delicious taste of happiness. The main thing is to be sincere and from the heart. You cannot deceive your conscience; your conscience will immediately detect falsehood in an action.

A person who has experienced how, after his selfless actions, inner Happiness is imbued with warmth and a feeling of satisfaction, begin to understand that the happiness from material life is incomparable in the depth of sensations with the taste of the Happiness of selflessness. The joy of a selfless act cannot be confused with anything.

Very often a person deceives himself, convincing himself that he is acting selflessly. You can discover the true selfish motivation of your behavior after a little analysis. Always look at what caused your action.

If your action is alien to everything that is friendly with vanity, immodesty, hypocrisy and hypocrisy, then it can be called disinterested. Honor, fame, gain and fame are not selflessness.

Selfless life completely changes a person’s ideas about the essence of material life. A person understands that if you live by selfish interests, you will definitely be disappointed at the end of your life. No matter how much wealth you accumulate, you cannot take it with you to the grave. A selfless person lives for others, and therefore he wants to help. When the insight comes to a person to live selflessly, he will remember this day as the day of his second birth. A person really starts a new life.

A selfless person does what he loves and puts all his strength into it. When a person does something according to his calling, realizing his life purpose, this is a worthy embodiment of a person and his work and his work and his usefulness. The mood and state of consciousness and subconscious are excellent, the person is in an enthusiastic and inspired state. He creates!

For a Selfless person, work is joy and celebration; he is truly happy. Even from the standpoint of the material world, it is much more profitable to be selfless than to be greedy, greedy or stingy.

People read this energy of true selflessness, accurately calculate selflessness and are drawn to it. An unselfish doctor and teacher, without wanting it themselves, receive the highest social status. Money, fame, and fame come to them.

Everything they didn’t want, everything they didn’t think about, comes on its own, like human gratitude for selflessness. This happens automatically, regardless of the will and consciousness of a selfless person.

Greed breeds poverty, selflessness leads to wealth

Selflessness in Business

It would seem that to succeed in business, you need to be selfish, selfish, in a word, strictly aimed at profit. It's a delusion!

Business is a form of serving people. Success comes to those people who understand and are imbued with this thesis!

Business is a form of serving people

If a person organizes a business with the desire to make money, deceive customers, or earn dishonestly, the business is doomed to deception. The principle of business is selflessness. A successful businessman is a selfless businessman.

Unselfishness - decent, obligatory and responsible, you can sign contracts with him - will not let you down, because his goal is to serve himself and people by developing and improving his business.

To an unselfish businessman, his high-ranking friends will certainly offer a good job or selflessly help organize a business.

How to act

The simplest and most effective way to cultivate selflessness in yourself is a simple daily phrase:

I wish everyone happiness!

Where you can encounter self-interest

Self-interest is present in every area of our society, be it marriage and family or religion. Financial independence attracts everyone, even people who have already achieved success.

Men often become victims of selfish women who want to take over their finances through marriage. Manipulation through feelings and emotions by a person who has trusted is one of the lowest things. The main thing is that selfish intent will not bring passion and pleasure to the newlyweds’ bed. Such a marriage is unlikely to last long.

The love of money is considered one of the most terrible sins. Priests in expensive jeeps wearing branded clothing are a common example of self-interest. However, everyone who comes to the temple is encouraged to be content with what God has given. Don’t forget to mention here that religion needs money.

The most elementary example of self-interest is politics. Servants of the people, called officials, have long been building a third mansion under the noses of the common people.

In the criminal law of the Russian Federation, selfish motives and selfish purpose are used as a synonym for the word motive. These terms are used in both a broad and narrow sense.

It won't end well

Heated discussions on this topic took place at a scientific and practical conference organized by the Supreme Court of Russia “Problems of the application by courts of legislation on liability for fraud, misappropriation and embezzlement.” The question was posed, as they say, bluntly: is it considered self-interest when a person took not for himself, his family or friends, but gave the funds obtained through dubious means to strangers? After all, from the point of view of the Criminal Code, when there is no self-interest, then there is no theft. Therefore, the fate of a good person here is extremely dependent on the interpretation.

The recommendations prepared during the scientific conference will certainly be used to prepare the legal positions of the Supreme Court, so that the voice of scientists will influence judicial practice. However, now the Supreme Court has to decide whose arguments sounded more convincing. There is no unity: representatives of many reputable law schools in the country voted “against” Detochkin, but a number of practitioners spoke out for his pardon.

Until now, the answer seemed clear to many: even a good thief is still a thief. By this logic, Robin Hood's place is either in a book or in prison. In the end, we all saw the movie “Beware of the Car” and remember very well how it ended. How is life better?

However, the Supreme Court of Russia drew attention to such an essential detail: according to the law, self-interest is a mandatory sign of theft. Disinterested fraud or noble embezzlement are things that do not fit into the Criminal Code. So what to do if, say, the director of a state-owned enterprise sold state property through some dubious scheme, and transferred all the proceeds to an orphanage, without taking anything for himself?

The sentence depends on how the judge should understand self-interest. If narrowly, as concern for one’s personal pocket, then a charitable director cannot be punished for embezzlement. If we broadly define, say, self-interest as the pleasure of doing a good deed, then the article of the Criminal Code “Appropriation or embezzlement” here passes with a bang.

Therefore, the Supreme Court of Russia puzzled the country's best jurists about what is considered self-interest. An unexpected statement at the conference was made by the representative of the Investigative Committee, candidate of legal sciences Georgy Smirnov.

“Our position: there is no selfish motive when the person did not directly acquire benefits,” he said.

It is generally accepted that law enforcement officers always prefer a stern look, so it seemed unexpected that it was a representative of such an agency who proposed narrowing self-interest to his personal pocket and the pockets of relatives and friends. But teachers of many law schools, on the contrary, refused to forgive the conditional Yuri Detochkin. In practice, they said, our citizens are prone to grand gestures, but theft, they say, always remains theft. For example, recently in Orenburg a certain citizen stole 101 roses from a flower kiosk and distributed the flowers to unknown girls in a nightclub. It seems that the person gave joy to people, but he did it at someone else’s expense. So the person is charged with theft. There was a case when the owner of a certain bank was convicted of laundering a billion rubles. At the trial, it turned out that the citizen transferred part of the proceeds (but not all!) to the orphanage. As a result, the banker received a relatively light sentence, although he was not Detochkin in its pure form: he still did not keep anything for himself.

Professors from law schools said that once a person took possession of someone else's property through deception, this is already a crime. “This is his benefit. Even if he gives it to strangers, there is self-interest,” said one of the speakers. In response, Georgy Smirnov asked what is the point of including self-interest as a mandatory sign of theft, if the very fact of disposing of someone else's property is considered a crime? The speaker was unable to explain this.

“It seems to me that self-interest is undeserved enrichment, unfair enrichment at the expense of someone, when one is deprived of property, and another is enriched due to this,” Vadim Klyuvgant, an expert at the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of Russia, told RG. “Therefore, when we talk about theft, we still have to find this unjust enrichment from the one who is being prosecuted or from his close circle.”

According to the expert, the so-called “theft in favor of third parties” (in other words, the same Detochkin incident) was allowed in the 70s in one of the decisions of the plenum of the Supreme Court of the USSR. “Since then, this practice has been expanding and expanding, and reaching extreme things,” says Vadim Klyuvgant. “I believe this is neither in accordance with the doctrine nor the spirit of the law.”

By the way, at one time they refused to approve the script for the film “Beware of the Car,” citing, supposedly, the fact that people would start stealing each other’s cars. They also suggested changing the plot, saying that the hero should simply report the robbers to the OBKhSS. Fortunately, the authors managed to defend the idea. True, a few years after the release of the film, a clarification regarding “theft in favor of third parties” appeared in the resolution of the plenum of the Supreme Court. Could the practice change today? Let's wait and see.

In any case, one must be careful when doing good at someone else’s expense. Yuri Detochkin’s scheme, by the way, clearly falls into the Criminal Code: since car theft is punished regardless of whether there was self-interest.

How to understand that a person is selfish

Recognizing a social parasite is difficult, but possible. There are several typical behavior patterns of selfish people :

  1. Weakness and an imposed feeling of pity, causing disgust and the desire to do all the work yourself. Too much admiration for your personality, incessant flattery. After some time, it becomes impossible to refuse the manipulator.
  2. Active praise, eternal admiration and belittling of one’s own Self. Conscious understatement of one’s status so that you can look better in comparison. Such people easily sit on the neck.
  3. Dominant behavior of the best, most beautiful and charming person. His entire appearance and even his gaze screams “You are my servant.” Many give up and obey the orders of such a manipulator. The main thing is to ask yourself whether I really want to do this.

Meaning

Therefore, whether we like it or not, we need to look into the dictionary, it is required by our official duty. Let's look at the meaning of the word “unselfishly”. Only this will not be an adverb, but an adjective, which is similar in meaning: “Alien to selfish interests.” Our definition, given just above, is even more elegant, because it is free from tautology.

You can’t talk about selflessness without saying that self-interest is probably a purely human problem or trait. Why is this a problem? Because in relationships with other people we always have to prove that we are doing this or that unselfishly (and this is sometimes true), but they still don’t believe us. In general, one should talk about the selfishness of an action only when a person receives a certain material benefit, which is measured either in luxury goods or in money. Otherwise, we urge you to recognize the behavior as noble.

Why is it important? Because there is a police point of view that a person is always and everywhere self-interested. The only difference is that in one case he receives material benefits, and in the other - psychological. But we rebel against such injustice, because at least a drop of goodness must remain in a person! Additionally, the psychological benefits tend to be subtle and not obvious.

Matrenin Dvor

A striking example of selflessness is the heroine of A. I. Solzhenitsyn’s story “Matrenin’s Dvor.” Matryona is a kind-hearted person, a kind of ideal of morality and even holiness, which the author so openly admires.

The story takes place in a village in the post-war period. A woman who has never been spoiled by life is ready to give up her own affairs and despise personal interests in order to help her family and neighbors . She does all the hard work, without asking for any payment or even a word of gratitude, and takes in the daughter of her former lover.

Matryona's sincere desire to help and pure soul evoke the admiration of the reader. However, those whom she bestows with her kindness do not show her due gratitude and use Matryona for their own selfish purposes. And yet the woman steadfastly endures the blows of fate - despite adversity, she does not become bitter and does not harbor anger towards those who offended her, and remains the true ideal of righteousness, without which “the village does not stand.”

Master Syomka Lynx

It also happens in life that a person’s selflessness does not find support from those around him. This is what happened with the hero of Vasily Shukshin’s short story “The Master,” Syomka Lynx. A carpenter with golden hands, Syomka is inspired by the idea of restoring an old church in his native village. However, his enthusiasm runs into bureaucratic obstacles: the authorities decide that the church is not of historical value, which means there is no need to restore it.

Due to administrative obstacles, Syomka never achieves anything. This upsets him so much that he cannot go to the Talitsky church or even talk about it, and when he sees the church, he turns his back to it - he is so bitter. And yet, despite this outcome, Syomka’s selflessness evokes a warm response in the reader’s heart: after all, it is such caring and noble people who make the world a better place and remain forever in people’s memory.

Intercom

Undoubtedly, friendship is a very important relationship for a person; something that supports him at different points in his life.

I am grateful to fate that I have many true friends who are also wonderful people. Otherwise, it cannot be: a bad person will not become a good friend, because friendship requires the manifestation of the best qualities, such as selflessness, tolerance, generosity, sincerity... I believe that friendship is not afraid of either time or distance. This is an internal connection, common thinking, constant points of contact. There are friends with whom you don’t see or communicate for years, and then when you meet you feel joy and that very closeness that has not disappeared anywhere. It happens that you lose friends... Life gets in the way, the reason and desire to communicate disappear. But, as a rule, in my life these are “expected losses,” that is, initially it could be assumed that we would not be “friends” with this person for long.
