I have already written about stress on my website, as well as methods for relieving stress. Of course, nothing better than prevention has yet been invented - in the sense that you either need to learn to resist it, or create a less stress-generating environment around yourself.
It should be noted that it is also impossible to avoid stress completely, because in a certain sense it stimulates us, both physically and psychologically, but the problem is that the amount of stress that a person receives today does not fit into any gate - it does not need to! So much stress only destroys both the body and the psyche. So, today let's look at simple ways to relieve stress that can quickly bring "relief."
Method 1. Count the duration of breathing
Probably many have heard about him. But the method is very simple and very effective. Sit or lie down. Relax as much as possible. Breathe naturally, without tension, direct your attention to your breathing. Gradually make it deeper. Next, start counting how many seconds you inhale and how many seconds you exhale. Count a little detachedly, without trying to “forcibly” adjust your breathing to the count. However, some control is still needed here: your task is to make sure that the exhalation is 2 times longer than the inhalation, and you should not experience much tension while breathing. Stay relaxed. This is not that difficult to achieve. Similar techniques are found in yoga breathing exercises.
Why does this work?
The point is that focusing on your breathing “disconnects” you from immersing yourself in thoughts that may be caused or associated with a stressor. Such a shutdown in itself will release a lot of energy, which will be aimed at restoring the physical and mental state.
Another point: lengthening the exhalation relative to the inhalation calms the sympathetic nervous system, which will also reduce the effect of stress on your body.
How many times should I do it? Take at least 10 full breaths; if you have time, you can do more, because... it will not be worse.
