Seminar Self-hypnosis and Active Self-Hypnosis. How to inspire yourself with health, confidence and success!

Chapter 5

Active self-suggestion

What exactly is suggestion? We could define this concept as “the process of introducing a certain thought into the brain of another person.” But does such a process really exist? In essence, no. Suggestion does not exist as an independent process: its most necessary prerequisite, without which it is generally unthinkable, is that it should turn into self-suggestion in a suggestible person.

Emile Coue

Suggestion and self-hypnosis play a significant role in a person’s life. Verbal influence has long been used to influence a person for therapeutic purposes; it was used in ancient times by Hippocrates, Plato, and Aristotle. But in even more ancient times, priests, shamans and custodians of cults realized the power of the word in order to influence the consciousness of their fellow tribesmen, control them and perform religious miracles.

Suggestion and self-hypnosis influence almost all areas of our lives and our perception. Many human actions and thoughts are the result of previously received suggestions - this is education, upbringing, television and advertising, various authoritative opinions.

Self-hypnosis is an important part of self-hypnosis. Immersion in self-hypnosis has a beneficial effect on our health and psyche, but in order to enhance the effect and direct it in the right direction, we cannot do without self-hypnosis.

What is suggestion and self-hypnosis? If we turn to the literature, we will encounter a wide variety of definitions and interpretations. This is not surprising, since everyone describes the phenomenon from their own point of view, and in some ways it resembles the parable of the elephant and the blind wise men who described it. Therefore, we will allow ourselves not to go into the theoretical jungle and give a simplified definition, without in any way claiming to be the truth.

Suggestion is an influence on a person’s consciousness, in which a person’s uncritical (non-evaluative) perception of information (beliefs and attitudes) occurs, which can affect his emotional and physiological state. Simply put, if your words addressed to another person or to yourself caused a response, then suggestion or self-hypnosis, accordingly, occurred.

Self-hypnosis in this case is a process of suggestion addressed to oneself. Self-hypnosis allows you to evoke different body sensations in yourself, influence our perception, control the processes of attention, memory, emotional and even somatic reactions. That is, with the help of self-hypnosis, we can achieve improved well-being and health, for example, remove pain and speed up the healing process, influence our memory and attention, thereby increasing our learning ability. With the help of self-hypnosis, you can improve athletic performance or increase resistance to stress, develop positive thinking and increase motivation for professional growth and achieving goals.

If we look at the question more broadly, it turns out that everything that we say during a normal conversation or think to ourselves is a suggestion or self-hypnosis.

Every person practices self-hypnosis from a very early age, every day from morning until evening, without noticing it. It’s a pity, but many people use it unconsciously and incorrectly, thereby causing harm to themselves. This includes critical internal dialogue, negative thoughts, our fears and doubts. Oh, if only this energy could be put to good use!

What is self-hypnosis? Self-hypnosis can be positive and negative, active (voluntary) and passive (involuntary). Positive thoughts and images are positive attitudes, negative thoughts are negative attitudes.

Involuntary self-hypnosis is unconscious attitudes when a person gives himself and implements attitudes unconsciously. For example, thoughts, internal dialogue that seem to repeat themselves in your head. Maybe this happened to you too, our dear reader, when the words from a song were “attached” for the whole day and seemed to spin around in your head without a break - this is also an involuntary self-suggestion.

Active (voluntary) self-hypnosis is a purposefully conscious instillation of attitudes, thoughts, and commands into oneself. It is better, of course, to instill positive attitudes in yourself. Then we will have a positive, active self-suggestion.

A pacifier that heals. The way that suggestion and self-hypnosis can influence our behavior, mood and even health demonstrates the placebo effect, known to all doctors. This term refers to the improvement in a person’s health caused by taking a “pacifier” (this can be a tablet containing lactose, or an injection of a medicinal substance in a normal saline solution), i.e. it is a therapeutic self-hypnosis (or a suggestion that a person turns into self-hypnosis with his expectations). The effect is explained by the fact that as a result of self-hypnosis, the patient’s brain begins to produce substances corresponding to this effect (for example, endorphins).

This is why most modern drugs in clinical trials are evaluated in comparison with dummies. For example, one group of volunteers is given a test drug, and another is given a placebo (dummy). The effect of a new drug must be greater than the placebo effect for the drug to be considered effective. It turns out that a significant percentage of people respond to the “dummy”, and in some cases it turns out to be more effective than the new drug!

Rice. 4. Placebo - a “dummy”, a tablet that does not contain

The placebo effect can be significantly enhanced by tuning the person in the right way. For example, if an ampoule of saline solution (this is a 0.9% solution of ordinary table salt) is beautifully packaged and given to the patient as a new drug from a well-known company with a strong analgesic effect, then the effect may be no worse than that of a painkiller. This is probably why bright, large and expensive tablets from well-known companies are generally more effective than small, nondescript and cheap ones.

It seems that we are too carried away by theory and terminology, it’s time to move on to practice. We will tell you further about how to properly engage in active and positive self-hypnosis, consciously and effectively. Arm yourself with a pen and notebook; they will come in handy to write down self-hypnosis formulas for yourself.

Real story

My close friend Maria was hoping to spend a long-awaited vacation near the sea. However, an exacerbation of chronic gastritis forced her to postpone the trip. She took a course of medication, but continued to undergo examinations, and her vacation was coming to an end. One day I went to visit her and found her and the whole family in a panic.

— My treating gastroenterologist should be deprived of his diploma! He sent me to a gynecologist, pulmonologist, cardiologist, and then said that he would no longer see me without consulting a psychiatrist! I have terrible heartburn, especially at night, which prevents me from sleeping, and in the morning I have terrible fatigue and a headache. I follow the diet and all the appointments. What does a psychiatrist have to do with this?! – Maria was indignant, supported by the whole family.

— Nowadays these doctors are in fashion. Perhaps the clinic includes psychiatrists in the comprehensive examination process. If you want, I’ll go with you as a support group,” I tried to find words of consolation, wondering about the meaning of the consultation.

The next day we went into the psychiatrist’s office together. Having looked “with one eye” at Maria’s medical history, the psychiatrist began asking questions about family, work, and proposed vacations, which, in my opinion, had nothing to do with her friend’s illness. Then he asked her to leave the office, and we were left alone. My mood was belligerent, but I waited patiently for questions.

— Do you know what the effect of self-hypnosis is called? Or the story of the discovery of healing by autosuggestion? What about the connection between the body and the subconscious from a psychosomatic point of view? – the doctor asked kindly, seeing my bewilderment.

— Unconscious suggestion or self-hypnosis is the “placebo” effect. I don’t know the history of its origin, but I assume that one of your colleagues defended at least a doctoral dissertation on this. How can my friend cure herself with self-hypnosis? After all, the psyche has nothing to do with the gastrointestinal tract. What is the connection between the questions you asked and the disease and how to get rid of heartburn using the subconscious? – trying to show my awareness of medical terminology, I say.

- According to the medical history, Maria should not have heartburn, since gastritis has been cured, neighboring organs have been examined, therefore, the disease is of a psychosomatic nature, that is, instead of self-hypnosis about health, she has an attitude towards illness. Family discussions, dissatisfaction with the gastroenterologist, and obstacles to rest aggravate the negative factor. My task is to set her up for self-hypnosis treatment, yours is to help me. Words for self-hypnosis for recovery do not matter; the main thing is to treat her as a healthy person, maintaining unshakable faith in the prescribed drug. Do this and warn your relatives.

Then Maria entered the office, and it was my turn to wait in the corridor. She received another course of treatment in tablet form, and I visited relatives in her absence. A week later, an enthusiastic friend called me back:

- A miracle happened! The pills helped!

I remembered the conversation with the psychiatrist and thought that the best cure for all diseases is self-hypnosis.

How does unhealthy guilt manifest itself?

Unhealthy guilt

The feeling of guilt is not just remorse for a committed offense, which is typical for a normal person to experience. This is aggression, internal reproach of oneself for making a mistake, self-flagellation for action or inaction in a situation that can no longer be corrected.

In psychology, there are two types of guilt: healthy and unhealthy . Healthy is determined by reflection - a person’s tendency to analyze his experiences and actions and correct them. Unhealthy things are not always associated with bad actions by which you have harmed another person.

Guilt is unhealthy when:

  • You feel guilty every day;
  • You feel guilty for another person (when someone was rude, did not pay for travel, or accidentally touched you, but you consider yourself guilty, etc.);
  • Apologize often;
  • You worry a lot and think about the words people say several times a day;
  • Reproach yourself for doing something for your own good or of your own free will;
  • You are tormented when you didn’t do something for another person, although you weren’t obligated to.

An unhealthy sense of guilt often manifests itself when an individual has failed to achieve the expectations of another: first parents, then teachers, and then even the words of a complete stranger can have a significant impact. If you decided to take care of your needs and desires, for example, you bought your favorite food and did not share it, or you bought new clothes without buying anything for your loved ones. For such indulgence of selfishness, a person begins to suffer with an unhealthy sense of guilt, and shopping does not bring joy. The person feels that he did not have the right to such freedom and reproaches himself for it. Or, for example, when a couple in love lives together, but one of them did not wash the dishes of the other, and the partner began to be indignant about this. In this case, the person feels guilty for not taking proper care.

An acute feeling of guilt manifests itself when a person acts contrary to his family. This is especially true for moments that are important in life: moving, changing jobs, education or giving it up altogether, starting a family or not. Since parents are the first people who participate in shaping our personality, they have a great influence. Unfortunately, many adults, when their children grow up, do not fully realize that in front of them is an individual who is free to make decisions independently in his life. It depends on the desire to maintain control and personal complexes. However, when a person encounters resistance and disapproval from significant others, a strong, gnawing sense of guilt arises. Although there should be absolutely no guilt for making decisions in your life.

The psychology of the problem lies in the behavior of the individual. A person with a guilt complex:

  • Does not enter into arguments or discussions, avoids conflicts, cannot defend his position, fearing the reaction of others;
  • Constantly analyzes what he said to someone, whether he did the right thing;
  • Tries to adapt to the expectations of another person, wants to be ideal and good;
  • Afraid of offending others with words and statements;
  • Such an individual is easy to manipulate and is often used for selfish purposes;
  • It is difficult for him to refuse and say “no”.

A healthy sense of guilt forces you to analyze mistakes and correct them. If you somehow did something wrong to another person, then ask for forgiveness, talk and this situation will not torment you anymore. A healthy sense of guilt teaches, while an unhealthy feeling only brings mental anguish.

It is also important to be able to distinguish guilt from shame, which many confuse. Shame is focused on the individual, on ourselves as a whole, and not on actions. When a person experiences shame, he feels that it was not he who made a mistake, but that he himself is a mistake, a pitiful and worthless person. This feeling is much stronger and more harmful than guilt.

Placebo effect"

The term was scientifically introduced by the American anesthesiologist G. Beecher as a result of research on patients during the Second World War. In case of a shortage of painkillers, the doctor injected ordinary saline solution, acting on the patient’s subconscious. Often such exposure led to an effect equivalent to anesthesia. Having organized and systematized his observations, Beecher formulated what self-hypnosis treatment is called.

However, doctors have been using the placebo effect for a long time. In the 19th century, the therapist M. Mudrov prescribed powders to patients that had an immediate effect in the fight against many diseases. After the death of the famous doctor, it turned out that the contents were ordinary chalk. Mudrov wrote: “The art of a doctor lies in creating “medicines for the soul” that would console the angry, calm the impatient, stop the violent, frighten the daring, make the shy brave, frank the unsociable, and reliable the desperate.”

To evaluate the effectiveness of invented drugs, the placebo effect method has been mandatory since 1970. The interest of doctors and psychologists in self-hypnosis for health continues to grow.

Settlement for recovery

Self-hypnosis treatment is independently based on the creation of individual settings that have general principles of construction. To be effective, you need to choose the right attitudes for yourself and learn to be receptive to them. Otherwise, you can add many diseases, first created in the imagination.

Health rules

Self-hypnosis for recovery is based on the creation of positive impulses before turning into a working tool at the level of the subconscious, acting automatically. Basic rules of construction:

  1. Positive affirmative wording. According to research by psychologists, the subconscious does not perceive the negative particle “not”. Therefore, the phrase “I’m not sick” needs to be changed to “I’m absolutely healthy.”
  2. Visualization of desired events. The essence is to imagine a favorable situation and experience it. The method is effective because the mind does not distinguish real events from fictional ones. Often people live in an imaginary world, far from reality, and are in a feeling of happiness. It is important for the patient to imagine that he is already healthy; visualization will do the rest.
  3. Complete relaxation. The goal is to create the desired images, repeat positive phrases in the most comfortable environment. A mental image embedded in the subconscious can give a command to the body on the physical level. The duration and frequency of repetition do not matter. The main criterion is “penetration into the soul” and getting pleasure.
  4. Formation of abstracts. Thesis statements should be written in a positive manner, focusing on what needs to be achieved rather than avoided. It is important that there is no comparative degree and no specific time frame for recovery is established. For example, for a bedridden patient the formulation: “I will get up after a certain period, because this happened to my neighbor” is inappropriate due to the individuality of the human body.
  5. Daily classes. According to psychologists, you need to exercise twice a day without skipping. It’s better to work out for 2 months and then quit altogether than to miss even a day. The recommended time is in the morning when waking up and at night before going to bed.
  6. Motivation and active position. Simply words, not backed up by concrete actions and efforts, did not bring recovery to anyone.

Self-hypnosis is not a panacea for all ills. Healing comes from comprehensive treatment in the form of drug therapy, following medical prescriptions and correcting the way of thinking.

Affirmations for health

The story of Maria’s healing from heartburn represents not only treatment for the disease on a psychosomatic level, but also self-hypnosis for neurosis and headaches, which are inevitable companions. With this in mind, health affirmations formulated by Louise Hay:

  1. I “learn” life with ease.
  2. At any moment I feel the “taste” of life and newness.
  3. There is peace in my soul.
  4. I love and approve of myself.
  5. I breathe deeply and trust the process of life.
  6. I am absolutely safe.
  7. Life cannot harm me.
  8. I relax, and life provides me with everything I need in an easy and convenient way.
  9. I open my soul and radiate love in communication.
  10. I travel through the endless expanses of eternity, knowing that everything is fine.

Self-hypnosis for health in the form of affirmations is a text of brief instructions that need to be repeated periodically on an individual basis.

Physical exercise

Sport has a positive effect on all body functions. In addition, it is a great distraction from the habit of masturbation. By playing sports, a man not only gets himself in good shape, but also reaches a level of fatigue when he no longer has the strength to engage in masturbation. Of course, to achieve a positive effect, you should follow a diet and sleep schedule.

One of the most effective and affordable physical activities is morning jogging. You should try to conduct classes in a company, then the habit of masturbation will recede even faster.

Playing sports puts a person in good shape. His thoughts become clearer, stagnation disappears. It is much easier for a physically attractive and cheerful man to meet a girl.

Thought distractions and restrictions

conclusions

What comes first: a healthy body or a healthy mind? Not significant. The main postulate is that these concepts are inextricably linked with each other. The said Mary could not be healed physically due to problems on a spiritual level. Medicine knows of cases where the correct attitudes cured cancer, and the wrong ones led to schizophrenia.

A sick person cannot recover solely by relying on self-hypnosis. At the same time, all medicine will be powerless if the patient lacks faith. The main rule is to combine drug treatment and a positive attitude of the patient. When drawing conclusions, remember that a person’s strength lies in himself!

Self-hypnosis

- the best way
to cure
any disease on your own, even when medicine is unable to help you.
This has long been proven by many people who healed themselves through self-hypnosis
, when medicine was powerless.
But today, few people believe and know that self-hypnosis treatment
is available to everyone.

We are used to other people thinking for us and our health; we go to the doctor when we feel bad, without maintaining our health and not preserving it from early childhood. Psychologists have prepared a number of effective methods for your self-hypnosis treatment

went well on its own.

Decide what your illness is and what causes it

The first step is to treat

self-hypnosis went well, you need to decide what kind of illness you have. After that, write it down on a piece of paper, in as much detail as possible, when it occurred, why and what its symptoms are. You should know as much as possible about the disease itself, since without knowing this, the method of self-hypnosis will be powerless.

In most cases, the main cause of illness in people is also self-suggestion.

, because people inspired their own illness. Perhaps this person thought a lot about diseases, or he was surrounded by sick people or those who constantly talk about diseases, or this person was constantly asked about his health, which led to doubts, and he fell ill. There are many reasons, the main thing is to find your cause of the disease.

Do not renounce medicine, all methods of healing are important

We must not forget about medicine, much less renounce it, relying only on self-hypnosis; all healing methods are important. Treatment

self-hypnosis, is used only when medicine is powerless and doctors give up. The most important thing is that the patient does not give up. Since there are a number of cases when a person, being in a critical condition and the doctors said that nothing could be done, was cured through self-hypnosis. But if your illness can be easily cured through medicine, then do not renounce it, and consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Imagine in your mind that you are healthy

Those who were cured

through
self-hypnosis
, when medicine was powerless, they shared their experiences and told how they managed to become healthy and heal through self-hypnosis. The most important thing they say is to believe that you can be cured and this belief should be supported by a strong desire, happiness and joy. After this, you need to mentally imagine yourself as often and daily as possible, that you are already healthy, how you live, how you breathe, play, walk, take off your shoes in life. Imagining themselves in their thoughts, these people created their future and changed their destiny, which was outlined by doctors. Believe and follow this method.

Give thanks for everything you have and everything you don't yet have.

The girl, who was in the last stage of cancer, when doctors said that nothing could be fixed, applied the self-hypnosis treatment method independently in practice. She started her day by thanking God for what she already has, as well as what she doesn’t yet have. She said: Thank you Lord for curing me, repeating this phrase 100-200 times daily. The girl also drank tea, watched funny programs, she began to live as if she had already recovered. After another study, the doctors were amazed; they found no cancer cells in the girl, the girl was completely healthy. Therefore, remember, you always need to stay, believe, thank and rejoice in what already exists, and what is not there, but you really want it.

Self-hypnosis for recovery

on one's own

useful, but if you do not have experience yet, then it is better to consult a doctor, all ways of treatment are important and necessary. There are many self-hypnosis phrases that have helped people cure various diseases, here is the most effective and best phrase for self-hypnosis treatment:

Every day I become more

better and healthier

Every hour I become more

better and healthier

Every minute I become more

better and healthier

With every moment I become more

better and healthier.

This phrase needs to be said 500 times or more a day, you can record it on a voice recorder and listen, you can say it out loud or to yourself. If you believe in God, you can also, as an addition, read prayers for healing. The main thing is to believe that you are healthy and do everything necessary to be so.

crawl en Self-hypnosis is the ability of a person to suggest to himself (usually in a trance state) using thoughts, images, ideas, imagination and visualization, some specific attitudes of a positive or negative nature. Another name for this is the placebo effect.

Often there is unconscious self-hypnosis for diseases or, on the contrary, self-hypnosis for recovery, for increasing self-confidence, for realizing plans, and so on.

The power of self-hypnosis is very enormous, although many people underestimate it. Of course, this is not a magic wand that instantly solves any problem, but it is very helpful in life to get rid of certain conditions.

It is important to approach conscious self-hypnosis very responsibly, performing it not for fun, but when there is a serious need for it.

Self-hypnosis can be of an irrational nature, unconscious, and can come from the attitudes, convictions and beliefs that were instilled in a person by his parents and society. In the case when they are negative, a person unconsciously instills in himself various pathologies, setting himself up for failure in his career or love.

If you learn to control your mental state, thanks to the technique of self-suggestion, you can significantly improve your life: you will gain health and longevity, improve the quality of your life, become successful, and attract love. Regular use of the method will make it automatic.

Additional Helpers

Visual or auditory images help a lot. Self-confidence can be instilled using a recorded voice on audio media. This method works great, and if you combine it with relaxing music, it’s an overall enjoyable experience. The point is that you can transfer the correct intonation onto film and emphasize the most important phrases. And you can listen to such pleasant words addressed to you anywhere.

There is such a little trick as pictures or photographs with inscriptions that help in self-hypnosis. You can make them yourself or find them in magazines. If you dream of being rich and having a great home, find an image and write the phrase you need on top with a bright marker. For example, I am rich, successful, I am brave and determined. Hang them in your home and a little training will happen every time you see them.

It doesn’t matter which method of self-hypnosis you choose, you need to work on yourself every day. And only then will you get a good result. Love yourself, devote at least 5 minutes a day to your future success. Be alone with yourself and your subconscious. Self-hypnosis can be carried out in the form of a regular friendly conversation. Imagine that you are communicating with the personality within you, share your dreams, tell about your first successes, ask for advice and help. These exercises are very useful, the so-called inner voice is an independent observer who is able to suggest great ideas!

Self-hypnosis for recovery

If you suffer from any pathologies - physical or mental, then we recommend that you use controlled self-hypnosis for recovery.

But please note that the self-hypnosis technique can be used as an aid to recovery in conjunction with other methods of therapy (drug, physiotherapy, and so on). Although in some cases, self-hypnosis allows you to get rid of pathologies without additional intervention.

And if you apply the concept of “recovery” on a social, personal and emotional-psychological level, then self-hypnosis will improve your position in society, improve interpersonal relationships and allow you to make your life successful and happy.

Watch the following video and you will learn how the placebo effect works

Lack of opportunity and passion

There is no limit to the incoming erotic information. You can take your laptop with you to public places, a park or a cafe. The presence of strangers will not provide an opportunity to engage in handjobs. In addition, in a public place the chance of meeting a girl who will help solve the problem increases.

As an alternative, consider taking up an interesting hobby. Hobby can become not only a source of moral satisfaction, but also bring additional income. This could be freelance work, making crafts, or something else. However, you should not change one bad habit for another. To get rid of masturbation, you do not need to replace it with a passion for alcohol or cigarettes.

All free time should be devoted to self-learning and development. One good method that will absorb all your free time is to buy a used car. Repair and restoration work will require a lot of effort. Music lessons are a good distraction from obsessive thoughts. A passion for video shooting for Internet channels will make simple things interesting and bring in a solid income.

Basics of self-hypnosis

To use autosuggestion effectively, you first need to become familiar with its basics. Below we give you the rules, compliance with which in this matter is mandatory if you want to get the desired result:

  1. Be 100% confident in the final action.
    The presence of doubts calls into question the effectiveness of the technology. The presence of your fears and prejudices can prevent you from achieving your goal, which will ultimately result in complete failure.
  2. Positive thinking.
    If you use the particle “not” in your speech, your brain automatically begins to be programmed to defeat. Therefore, it is necessary to try to formulate your judgments in such a way that they do not contain negative formulations. For example, you decide to lose weight and if you have a desire to eat something harmful, you convince yourself that you don’t feel hungry. But soon you will feel a treacherous nausea. It would be more correct to convince yourself that you are currently full and feel great.
  3. Don't force yourself.
    If you resort to coercion, you will face constant internal conflict. And fighting with yourself is the worst thing you can think of. Therefore, do not try to force yourself, but try to use persuasion to find a compromise.
  4. Focus on the present.
    You will never correct the mistakes of the past, and thinking about the distant future is also not very effective. Therefore, put the right emphasis on the present - concentrate on this moment.
  5. Give yourself the right attitudes.
    It is important that they are short and succinct, while being clearly and precisely formulated. If you think about the formulation of your desire for a long time, it will become blurred and stop working. Try to repeat your settings more often.

Self-hypnosis of diseases

There is such a thing as iatrogenic disease, which is a mental disorder provoked by a careless statement by a doctor. Thus, for particularly impressionable patients, because of a careless word uttered by a doctor, a conviction appears in the presence of a serious pathology. Although it is possible for this condition to develop without the fault of the physician.

Suspicious people tend to make various diagnoses for themselves. The most dangerous thing in this case is that as a result of such self-hypnosis, a person actually faces a real pathology.

If you focus on yourself, various negative changes begin to occur in your body. Gastrointestinal pathologies develop most quickly. A person under negative self-hypnosis experiences a state of stress, and stress provokes many real diseases.

Self-hypnosis treatment

Our pathologies are our emotional experiences, all our worries and fears. To gain health, you need to remain calm and confident in your own abilities, and also think less about negative images.

Self-hypnosis or the placebo effect is a huge power that will help you change your reality. Using the power of self-hypnosis, you will get rid of various physical and mental pathologies, and you will also be able to achieve a state of inner harmony and happiness.

For quite a long time in psychiatry, self-hypnosis has remained one of the widely known terms. As a rule, it is understood as a complex of psychological influences of an individual on his own consciousness, through which he develops various attitudes, ideas, and psychological mechanisms. Most often, this technique is implemented through authentic, regular repetition to oneself or out loud of a certain set of words and phrases.

This set is usually individual for each person, since each of the “patients” has self-hypnosis and influences his own personality. Each of us, quite likely, has encountered the processes of self-hypnosis. They can manifest themselves during a mental and psychological struggle with fear, anxiety, lack of confidence in themselves and their abilities before a responsible performance or exam.

As a method of psychotherapy, instilling certain attitudes into oneself can be active and carried out intentionally, or it can take on a passive, subconscious form. At the same time, self-hypnosis can be not only positive, but also negative, which directly depends on the character, psychological state and manner of the individual. There are known cases when, through negative self-hypnosis, a person actually fell ill or even became disabled, but it also happened the other way around, when with the help of this specific technique, patients were cured of serious illnesses.

Why is it difficult to get rid of guilt?

A wrenching feeling of guilt

Guilt, especially unhealthy guilt, is a rather caustic feeling that is not easy to get rid of. The reasons for this lie in our psyche, continuing to live and develop. An individual experiences a painful feeling of guilt based on his ideas about good and evil, morality and immorality. These aspects depend on the embedded family and cultural values, which differ depending on the country and traditions.

Feelings of guilt are not easy to get rid of , because a defense mechanism that does not want to expose you to more stress. You do not enter into discussions and arguments, rarely make important life decisions, justify your own inaction and fear of the unknown or what has happened. You scold yourself and praise yourself for it: I don’t know how to do anything, I’m bad at this, I admit it, but I’m not going to change anything.

It is difficult to get rid of something that has been instilled since childhood and has created a comfort zone to which the individual has become accustomed.

Self-hypnosis methods

Self-hypnosis, as the phenomenon of self-hypnosis is also called, is capable of causing in an individual certain experiences, emotions and feelings, various volitional and motivational impulses. Almost all methods of self-hypnosis are based on the development of positive impulses, which are achieved by repeating positive statements specific to the individual, key sets of phrases. Such regular authentic repetitions are carried out until the mental or verbal attitude is transformed into a permanent instrument of the subconscious, which is activated at a certain moment and transforms thoughts and impulses into a full-fledged physical equivalent. It is recommended to pronounce such mental suggestions in an imperative tone, while affirming for oneself the likelihood of fulfilling such an “order” or confirming its execution in advance. At the same time, it is also imperative to avoid various negative connotations in your statements, including the particles “not” or “no”. For example, if you are trying to quit smoking, you should avoid suggestions like “I don’t smoke anymore” or “I don’t want to smoke”, but the attitude “I quit smoking” will be effective. Please also note that too long monologues are never used for the purposes of self-hypnosis or self-hypnosis. All settings and phrases should be as brief as possible, but at the same time succinct and to the point.

Of course, at the moment there are quite a lot of different methods of self-hypnosis, but at the same time it is worth noting that the effect mainly depends not only on the correct choice of technique. The level of information content of the suggestion and the correctness of the given attitude, the level of attention to the suggestion, focus on the desire to complete the task, and the suggestibility of the individual also play a role. To improve the effect, additional techniques widely known in psychiatry, such as relaxation, reading a mantra, affirmation, and visualization, are often used.

Affirmations are considered one of the most effective and successful methods. The meaning of this phenomenon is that the individual repeats to himself an attitude that contains an already completed successful positive action. For example: “I found a good job” or “I passed the exam successfully.” The mechanism for implementing this self-hypnosis is that positive thinking very quickly displaces from the subconscious negative attitudes that block active impulses to activity, as a result of which these positive attitudes are translated into reality. You can also build self-hypnosis on constant gratitude. There is a widespread belief in psychology that gratitude for something is the most powerful positive emotion, second only to love. Constant gratitude to yourself. For those around you, or even just the universe, this is a very strong positive impulse. Which will allow you to overcome negative blockages in the subconscious every day. As with any affirmation, you need to thank quite regularly, and there is not much difference in who exactly and what you will thank for if you do it as sincerely as possible. You can even thank the world around you and the universe for another day you have lived, for good weather, for the life given to you. The main thing you must remember is that the affirmation is not repeated simply as a mantra once a day, with a certain regularity. The point of the technique is that what is repeated should become the meaning of the whole day. And a person conducting self-hypnosis in this way must not just repeat the installation, but actually experience what is being repeated. In other words, no matter what happens to you throughout the day, your positive attitude should always be on the surface. Also often used is the so-called “autogenic” training, which is a combination of the processes of self-hypnosis and self-hypnosis. The point is that the individual plunges himself into a kind of trance - a relaxed state of superficial sleep, when consciousness is in an intermediate position between dreams and reality. It is in this state that further processes of self-hypnosis take place. At the same time, it is also recommended to use visualization techniques and awaken memories that connect consciousness with positive experiences aimed at achieving the desired.

"Magic" letter

In order to engage in self-hypnosis, you need to create the right text that will reflect your aspirations and hopes. Many people resort to ready-made materials, but, unfortunately, they do not work for everyone. The fact is that your words are colored by emotions. That is, the brain will perceive not only the sound, but also the picture, the image that you create. When you think about becoming rich, for example, you see the goals you will achieve and feel happiness and awe. Start writing your letter. What exactly needs to be taken into account:

  • You must clearly state what your goal is. Don’t get hung up on the little things just yet, imagine the big picture;
  • Create a text with complete seriousness, this is not a game at all. Think of the letter as an important document that will determine your future life;
  • Every word must have meaning. No, not vague phrases like “if only”, “it would be nice”, “maybe”. Confident statements - I am rich, I am successful, I am happy and brave;
  • You should not use negative or negative messages, only statements that you have to believe.

When the work is finished, it is advisable that this message is not too long, read the text and correct what you don’t like. From this day your conscious work begins. Every day, without interruption, you must read this letter to yourself. A person should enjoy this process; draw bright images in your head. Try this exercise for at least a month. When you feel that the first changes have appeared in your life, you can set more specific goals. You can always add something to what is written, or, on the contrary, remove it.

Self-hypnosis treatment

For quite a long time, treatment with self-hypnosis has been under the close attention of both specialists and ordinary people interested in this technique. There are many cases where an individual’s instillation of positive attitudes into his consciousness was practically the only way to combat truly serious illnesses. For example, Bekhterev believed that the healing properties of prayer, which were also often noticed among people, were based on the strong effect of self-hypnosis, supported by a positive attitude of a religious nature and conviction. Even experts in the field of traditional medicine, therapy and surgery note the fact that the effectiveness of treatment is often influenced by the patient’s belief in the possibility of his healing. Sometimes even the very belief in successful recovery turns out to be more effective than the drugs themselves.

In this case, the technique once proposed by Coue is especially popular. From the author’s point of view, the patient needs to repeat one or more specific positive attitudes daily. A standard example is the phrase: “Every day I feel better” or “I feel much better today than yesterday.” The fact that sometimes such an attitude can be completely at odds with what is actually happening is completely unimportant. This is explained by the fact that such attitudes of the patient are aimed at his subconscious, which in people is characterized by gullibility.

In principle, the human subconscious perceives everything as truth or an order that it seeks to fulfill. Therefore, such attitudes can easily lead to real vegetative changes in the body, the action of which will be aimed at improving the condition in the body, even if this is practically impossible to achieve with the help of drugs. In this case, the main criterion is the positive orientation of the installation formula, because if this condition is not met, instead of improvement, the patient may inspire himself with increased pain or other unpleasant symptoms of the disease. Of course, such techniques are most effectively used in the treatment of patients with various nervous disorders, suffering from hormonal disorders, excess weight, mental disorders, or even diseases of the genitourinary system. Also, the self-hypnosis technique is excellent for preventive purposes, strengthening the general condition and tone of the patient’s body.

The technique of suggestion is also effective for apathy, life failures, and breakups.
The effectiveness of the method directly depends on the desire of the patient himself to cope with the problem, does not require any coercion or effort on himself, while it is completely devoid of disadvantages, does not cause addiction or any specific “withdrawal” in case of refusal of self-hypnosis.
