The most common type of psychopathy is schizoid psychopathy.
This mental disorder is characterized by a lack of interest in social relationships, a tendency toward solitary life and introspection, emotional coldness and apathy. Today we will look at its symptoms and features of its course in children and adolescents.
Target audience and psychology
In this article we will approach the study of the target audience from the unpopular side - the psychological one. Why unpopular? Because psychology in this case resembles a soap bubble: there are many methods for determining characters, use them - I don’t want to! But if you try to apply them in practice, nothing concrete comes out. Are you going to include data about his type in socionics and archetype in a character’s portrait? “Mikhail, 27 years old, Hamlet... Hey, how can you calculate the archetype??” How useful will such information be? Can you predict people's motivation, their aspirations, and behavior? Or do you need at least a degree in psychology to do this?
Schizoid child
June 2, 2020 Profiling
The child's schizoid personality begins to emerge earlier than the character traits of other personality types (psychotypes). This is manifested in the child’s preferences: avoiding noisy companies, lack of friends, spending time among adults. To this is sometimes added some kind of coldness and childish restraint. In this regard, there is a theory that the schizoid trait is characteristic of people whose mothers deprived them of emotional warmth in the first months. They were deprived of tactile and emotional “eye to eye”, “skin to skin”, and were often left alone with themselves, with toys and rattles, which were considered as mother substitutes. Although such unity with...

Another theory
We will talk about another theory of characterology - the theory of “character accentuations”. It was developed by a number of psychiatrists (P.B. Gannushkin, K. Leongard, A.E. Lichko, M.E. Burno), systematized and processed by modern scientists (V.V. Ponomarenko, A.P. Egides). Today this theory is perhaps one of the most practice-oriented.
The essence of the theory is that a person’s character depends on the type of nervous system and a number of features that influenced its development. These features influence the development of the central nervous system and, by adapting, it changes our character. This is how a “psychotype” is born (there is no such word in theory, but we will use it for convenience).
The number of psychotypes is not known exactly: scientists give different numbers. We will focus on the research of practitioners and describe 7. We will describe each type of these seven according to the following scheme: Motivation (what drives the psychotype); famous representatives; behavioral characteristics; identification (how to distinguish one from another) and sales technique (we have a resource about marketing, after all!). These points will be quite sufficient for familiarization and practical purposes.
Let us note right away that we are describing “spherical psychotypes in a vacuum” - i.e. with off-scale features. This is done to better display the logic of behavior. In real life, “pure” types are almost never found - they are always combined with each other. This must be remembered. Here we finish with the introduction and move on to the descriptions.
Definition of schizoidity by activity
May 29, 2014 Video, Profiling
The goal of a schizoid is to create something new. Chris Dancy, who is in the video, talks about his unconventional ideas in the field of information technology. Also, work in this area is typical for schizoids. He also systematizes information and likes to conduct experiments on himself. His speech is not very clear, and at times jumps from one thought to another. In addition to these criteria for schizoidness, below is a description of this rather interesting person. Chris Dancy, who turned 45, has become the most connected person on planet Earth. In fact, every day it launches up to 700 gadgets and systems that monitor in real time all the features and aspects...

Psychotype No. 1. Hysterical. He is also “demonstrative”.
Motivation: attracting attention. Due to the characteristics of the nervous system, hysterics constantly need listeners and spectators. How to get them? Whatever! All means are good: bright appearance, accessories, shocking behavior, strange manner of expression, voice. And it doesn’t matter that this “peacock” behavior irritates many: irritation is also a sign of attention.
Famous representatives: Sergei Yesenin. At the beginning of his poetic career, the young man “played peasant,” coming to poetry evenings in bast shoes and village shirts. Another example is the outrageous writer Oscar Wilde, who walked the streets in velvet jackets with a lily in his hands. If we turn to fictional characters, then these are the parrot Kesha (Return of the Prodigal Parrot), Ostap Bender and Gennady Kozodoev (Gesha) performed by Andrei Mironov.
Features: The mood, efficiency and performance of the hysteroid also depend on the level of attention. Only if there are spectators and fans will demonstrators be able to work well. There will be no public - efficiency will decrease, and then disappear altogether - the hysterical person will become bored at work. Do you want to increase loyalty and efficiency? Use flattery and praise. Post a photo of the hysterical person on the honor board, make him the “face” of the company, etc. Give him the opportunity to do what he does best - shine: by drawing attention to himself, he will definitely attract attention to your product.
Identification: First of all, by its bright appearance. Loud colors, modern clothes, huge cutouts and décolletés (for girls, of course), fashionable hairstyles with shaved temples, expensive accessories. Please note: “bright” does not always mean “beautiful”.
The facial expressions of hysterical people are overly active: emotions are not just written on the face - they are reflected so vividly that they seem fake. The gesticulation is active, with one peculiarity - almost all gestures end with a pointing to oneself. “I” often slips into speech and the desire to attract the audience’s attention to oneself dominates. The movements are smooth, cat-like: in elegance, hysterics outperform all other psychotypes.
Sales technique: knowing the main motivation of the hysteroid (thirst for attention, the desire to increase one’s own EGO), it is not difficult to guess what the marketing strategy should be based on. Your product should help you stand out. With its help, women should become more beautiful, and men - more brutal. The accessory should raise the status, and the courses should amaze colleagues/acquaintances with new skills and abilities.
The ultimate need, of course, will depend on the level of intelligence of the demonstrator: if it is enough for a village girl to get a beautiful blouse, then a hysteroid of Tina Kandelaki’s level will need at least training that allows him to multiply 30-digit numbers in his head.
Psychotype No. 2: Epileptoid. He is also “excitable” and “tensely authoritarian.”
Motivation: Desire for order. Moreover, “order” here must be understood more broadly than simply “putting things in their places.” The order of the epileptoid is global - not only things are placed “in places,” but also social relations, people’s behavior, etc. The question arises: how does an epileptoid know “how to do it right”? From childhood and upbringing. Epileptoids accept the life attitudes in which they grew up. As you grow up, these attitudes take root and become the only correct ones - and this is how the criteria for “order” are born. Did the epileptoid's family like to listen to classics? That's it, “normal people” listen to classical music. All other directions are at least “something strange.” When the epileptoid was young, did girls wear long skirts? Everything, jeans, trousers and minis are already debauchery and vulgarity. “Didn’t get married before 30? Immoral!”; “If you don’t make money, but work for an idea, you’re a loser!” In general, once again passing by the grandmothers at the entrance, think about whether they are epileptoids in front of you?
Famous Representatives : Joseph Stalin, who literally elevated “order” to law. This type includes Marshal G. Zhukov, artists M. Ulyanov, Nonna Mordyukova, I. Goethe and others. If we take fictional characters, then this is James Bond performed by Daniel Craig, Gleb Zheglov from “The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed,” as well as Ippolit from “The Irony of Fate” (remember the description: “people like you are always right, because you live as you should!”).
Features: All epileptoids are professionals in their field. This is a “trademark” trait - having chosen a profession, representatives of the psychotype delve deeper and deeper into it. They are not afraid of monotony and boredom - epileptoids can spend hours studying literature, checking details, compiling reports, etc. In general, they are the very “working bees” of society. Accountants, analysts, military personnel and other professions in which consistency and order of actions are important - all this is suitable for epileptoids. The main thing is do not force them to work with people - this can end badly.
The psychotype takes an honorable second place in terms of aggressiveness: epileptoids are ready to defend their views with their fists. However, aggression is rarely used without a reason (except in individuals with low IQ = a gopnik in the alley). In other cases, epileptoids try to be restrained. Do you want to avoid communication problems? There are two options: be stronger than him and don’t let him interfere in your life. The second option is to give up and do as he wants. And this is not a joke - in marriages with an epileptoid, many do this. Where do you think the term “henpecked” came from?
The desire for orderliness dictates its gender roles. Those. A male epileptoid is a classic “real man” - a stern and fair breadwinner. An epileptoid woman will most likely be economical, hardworking, and able to cook deliciously. Both representatives will be logical, consistent and able to resolve any issues. However, there is also the other side of the coin - the lack of kindness and empathy (understanding of what the other person is feeling). The epileptoid will not be able to understand why a man suddenly cries over a film, and a teenager suffers for several years due to an unsuccessful relationship. And even more so, an epileptoid will not be able to act as a “vest” into which to cry. “If you’re going to help, then it’s worth it,” - this is what the epileptoid thinks.
Another minus is tediousness. Order in the head and thoughts presupposes a detailed structuring of all details and images - and in the end it turns out that when asked to tell a story, the epileptoid produces a report. However, if you really need a report or educational article...
Identification: Epileptoids dress according to the situation: to work - in work clothes, to the sports field - in sports clothes, to a dinner party - in dinner party clothes. At the same time, the clothes are always perfect: without holes, scuffs, traces of dirt and other imperfections. The hairstyles of epileptoids are mostly short - men can get rid of hair altogether, while women often have boyish haircuts or wear ponytails. The facial expressions of the representatives are sedentary ("stony face"), their gestures are moderate (usually with a small amplitude - all gestures are in front of them, at the level of the torso), the physique is in most cases properly athletic (the shoulders and torso form a triangle). Behavior is wary and probing. Once in a new team, the epileptoid assesses who is who. He takes the “weak” under his patronage, but leaves the “strong” alone. Please take this into account when communicating.
Sales technique: “best offer”. Epileptoids do not like to spend money (they do not like it so much that they are often known as misers and misers), and therefore they buy only the best products at the best price. If you want to sell something, prove that they won’t find anything better for that price. The epileptoid will not make a decision right away - while he checks whether there is a better option somewhere, while he strangles his own greed... But if he does buy it and is satisfied, he will recommend it to everyone he knows.
Treatment
It is impossible to cure schizoid disorder, but psychotherapeutic treatment can soften its manifestations, help a person adapt to society , and better understand his emotional needs.
Cognitive behavioral psychotherapy methods are widely used in the treatment of this disorder.
Medications are ineffective in treating this disorder, but when severe, they may be prescribed. Are used:
- antipsychotics. They are used if a schizoid seeks to completely withdraw from others (Risperidone),
- beta blockers and benzondiazepines for anxiety (Anaprilin, Phenazepam).
The dosage is selected by the attending physician depending on the patient's condition.
A schizoid who has received psychotherapeutic treatment is able to maintain the number of social connections he needs. Some schizoids successfully find partners .
About the treatment of schizoid personality disorder in this video:
Psychotype No. 3: Paranoid. He is also “stuck” and “fanatical.”
Motivation: a very important goal. Which one - each paranoid chooses for himself. But if he has already chosen, save himself, whoever can: to achieve this goal, he will not spare any effort, time, or lives. The goal will justify any inconvenience - living from hand to mouth, spending money, working three jobs, etc. Moreover, the paranoid will demand similar returns from those around him. After all, they are trying for an important cause!
It is the paranoiacs who are best characterized by the phrase “the end justifies the means.” This is their life motto and the core of their behavior. Purpose is everything. Losing a goal is death. Or at least depression.
Famous Representatives: If paranoiacs succeed, history records their names. You don’t have to look far for examples: Peter I, V.I. Lenin, Steve Jobs. If we take fictional characters, then the classic paranoid is the book Sherlock Holmes (he studied 1000 cases, beat up corpses and developed chemicals for identifying blood stains). Another example is the Underwoods from the series House of Cards.
Features: A “side effect” of determination is leadership. The explanation is simple: a paranoid person is absolutely stress-resistant, self-confident, knows what to do and is always ready to give instructions. As a result of this behavior, he becomes the “leader of the pack” and further responsibility for decision-making falls on him.
For the paranoid, those around him are “cogs” for the operation of the mechanism. Remember when we talked about low empathy in epileptoids? So, among paranoiacs it is completely absent. And in terms of aggressiveness, this type ranks first: it does not forgive insults, does not spare enemies, and is ready to fight for a goal.
Recognition: every reasonable person can recognize a paranoid person after just 5 minutes of communication - serious, businesslike and self-confident “fanatics” simply attract attention. They dress to suit their purpose. If you have a paranoid politician in front of you, there will be a suit, a tie, and a status watch. If you see a promoter of environmentally friendly, waste-free villages, get ready to see a man in rags and a beard. A paranoiac's appearance almost always reflects his goal.
As for facial expressions: they are inactive and almost always with contempt (determined by one-sidedness: a smile on only one side is contemptuous. One eyebrow raised is contemptuous surprise, also known as distrust). The gestures are sweeping and pointing: he (or she) likes to point fingers and show the way “to a bright future.” The voice is loud, commanding. The behavior is mostly demonstratively correct: the paranoid will be polite and courteous as long as he needs it. At other times there may be rudeness and rudeness. In general, upon brief acquaintance, he is quite a charming and pleasant person to talk to.
Sales technique: spot. A paranoid person is a realist who knows perfectly well what he wants. He does not give in to manipulation, and even more than that, he is often able to convince people himself. Therefore, if he knows that your product will not help him achieve his goal, you are unlikely to make a sale. On the other hand, if the situation is the opposite... In general, if you want to force a paranoid person to buy something, prove that the product will be useful for his purpose. If you can do it, he won’t spare the money.
Schizoid and health
May 25, 2014 Profiling
Initially, a schizoid has many minor or more significant bodily imperfections, which determine his inferiority complex. These are myopia, astigmatism, malocclusion, flat feet, poor skin, thinness, anatomical dysplasticity, dysarthria, rotten teeth, vegetative dystonia, etc. Sleep, as already mentioned, is often inverted in schizoids: they sleep during the day and work at night. During the day, schizoids experience drowsiness: daytime business life requires a lot of energy. And at night, the demands of life are minimized, and schizoids have enough of their low energy to work a lot - read, write, think. And if you can’t change the operating mode to night,...

Psychotype No. 4: Emotive. He is also “labile” or “impressionable”.
Motivation: harmony. An emotive person wants everything in the world to be harmonious: people are kind to nature and each other, and beauty dominates life. The emergence of such motivation is facilitated by a low emotional threshold: due to the characteristics of the nervous system, emotives feel emotions more strongly than other psychotypes. Surely among your friends there are people who begin to cry in the movies, seemingly at absolutely unemotional scenes. This kind of reaction is the “calling card” of the emotive psychotype.
Famous representatives: Emotionality can often be seen in artists (although it is hidden behind the acquired habit of “being in sight” - hysteria). Emotives include Sergei Bezrukov, French actress Marion Cotillard, artist Vincent Van Gogh. Of the fictional characters, you can remember Leopold the Cat with his kindness and eternal “Let's live together.”
Features: Emotives are good. But this kindness often backfires on them: those around them begin to take advantage of it. But the emotive cannot do anything about this: he usually does not have the ability to refuse (unless he develops it through long-term work on himself). Aggression in a psychotype is even more difficult, and therefore even banal things like “restraining an impudent person” or “barking at naughty children” become an ordeal.
Another feature is increased empathy. Emotives literally feel the state of another person, and therefore communicating with them is easy and comfortable. Well, how could it be otherwise - after all, they tune in to the same wavelength as the interlocutor and, as a result, give out exactly the amount of sympathy and understanding that was necessary. Emotives make excellent psychologists - they know how to listen and delve into other people's problems like no one else.
Finally, the desire for harmony also gives the emotive a subtle taste: representatives of the psychotype intuitively distinguish true art and beauty from mediocrity. This instinct helps to get comfortable in the field of decorating space - interior design, design, etc.
Identification: emotives are pleasant to look at - they, in contrast to hysterics, strive to look beautiful, not bright. In this regard, emotive clothing is always perfectly selected and hides all the flaws in appearance. Facial expressions are flexible, but they also contain a “basic emotion” - an expression of sadness (/\ - “brows like a house”). Gesticulation is moderate - the movements are round, smooth, as if taken from some kind of gymnastics. There are practically no sharp nervous gestures.
Sales technique: emotional. Emotives are best sold through emotions. Jeffrey James, editor of Inc.com and author of the Sales Source blog, once identified 6 feelings that can guide us when making a decision: fear, altruism, shame, pride, greed, envy. Guess which one you need to put pressure on when working with an emotive? That's right, altruism. Show in an emotive way how the purchase will benefit employees and colleagues, describe the benefits for customers and partners, talk about the common good that your company strives for, etc. In general, weave into the offer information that the purchase will be useful not only to the buyer, but also to the people around. Some researchers also advise using the words “benefit”, “help”, “improve”, “develop” more often.
How does formation occur?
Typically, in childhood, people with signs of a schizoid personality type are sensitive and receptive to external influences. When someone shows strong emotions, they become nervous and tense. They also react brightly to touch.
This feature persists into adulthood. As in children, a sign of the schizoid personality type in adults is sensitivity to lies. Thanks to the peculiarities of their childhood, they learned to very quickly recognize any falsehood in other people. This often causes them a lot of pain.
Therefore, people with a schizoid personality type are susceptible to stress, they run away from it into themselves, and withdraw into their own world.
This tendency can also manifest itself due to overprotection. Often a man with a schizoid personality type has a mother who violates his personal boundaries and constantly takes him to psychologists and healers during his childhood.
The situation is bad if there is a lot of insincerity and double messages in the family circle to which the child belongs. When one of the parents, not loving, behaves as if he loves, the child feels it. Often a person’s tendency to withdraw into himself arises if he is praised only in public, but is treated indifferently at home. In this way, by withdrawing into himself, he protects himself from feelings of hopelessness.
In both men and women, a schizoid personality type could develop in cases where their parents often left them alone in the crib. The children felt isolated. This happens when parents strive to raise them to be independent.
Eventually the schizoid adapts to such isolation and gives up the need for intimacy. He seeks support within himself.
There is only one conclusion: if a child is initially sensitive, and those around him place him in conditions of early isolation and loneliness, there is little empathy in the family, then a big conflict grows inside him. On the one hand, he strives for intimacy, and this is a natural need. On the other hand, he avoids her and distances himself. This is the main symptom that answers the question of how to determine the schizoid personality type.
Psychotype No. 5: Hyperthymic. He's "manic".
Motivation: Fun! This is what drives hyperthymes. Life should be fun and interesting. Always. And therefore, hypertims try to find this fun - they never sit at home, easily wedge themselves into any company, constantly joke and tell something. Hyperthymic existence is an endless fun adventure, practically undiluted by seriousness.
Famous representatives: Artists Evgeny Leonov, Mikhail Evdokimov, satirist Mikhail Zhvanetsky. Among the fictional characters is Masha from the animated series “Masha and the Bear”. Always restless, noisy, with an incredible thirst for adventure.
Features: Hyperthyms lack one of the important defense mechanisms - fear. Hyperthyms are recklessly brave and simply do not think about possible dangers. Maybe it will pass. And even if it doesn’t make it through, they won’t grieve for long - they’re not the right character. Negative emotions are nonsense for hypertim: he easily forgives insults, easily makes peace after quarrels and always has a positive outlook on life.
Otherwise, hyperthyms are the complete opposite of paranoiacs. If paranoiacs work all their lives, then hyperthymics rest all their lives. No, this, of course, does not mean that they do nothing. They do, of course. But they choose only those things that interest them. This paranoid person can do whatever is required to achieve the goal - and give the hypertim a job where you can communicate with someone, joke or have some other fun. Otherwise, he will become bored and his work will come to naught. Perhaps, hypertims show themselves best in the role of toastmaster or traveling salesman. There is a constantly new stream of people with whom you need to communicate and/or have fun. What could be better?
The only similarity between paranoid and hyperthymic is a strong nervous system. Both types simply radiate energy. However, the paranoid person spends it on work, and the hypertimid person spends it on relaxation and fun. Eternal parties, dancing, hiking and part-time jobs. And he doesn’t get tired...
Another feature of the psychotype is the speed of reaction: a healthy nervous system reacts faster to stimuli and, as a result, hyperthymic people actually think faster. Just don’t think that this is a definite plus: often hyperthymic thoughts overtake speech. This leads to “mess in the mouth” and jumping from thought to thought.
Identification: hyperthyma is characterized by increased motor activity: he cannot sit in one place for a long time. The characteristic physique of the psychotype is considered plump, although a regular athletic figure is also found. Hypertim's clothing is universal - i.e. one where you can work, dance at a disco, and climb mountains. Something simple and functional. The psychotype is characterized by negligence - clothes may have stains, scuffs and other flaws. This is due to the fact that hypertim has no time to monitor appearance.
Facial expressions are mobile. The predominant emotion is surprise (raised eyebrows, open mouth, wide eyes). The gestures are broad and demonstrative—with his hands he illustrates what he is saying. The behavior is strictly field - hypertim rarely plans anything in advance and acts based on the circumstances. However, wherever he appears, he will try to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Sales technique: standard. Hypertim is open and easy to manipulate, and therefore an experienced sales manager will not have problems with him. If there is no experienced manager, consider the motivation: hyperteam has been looking for fun and positive emotions all their lives. Tell him how cool your product really is and how fun it will be to use. If you do everything correctly, the decision will be made instantly, almost without thinking, under the power of the moment. On the contrary, if it takes time to make a decision, most likely the product will simply be forgotten.
Causes and risk group
The development of schizoid disorder is influenced by a wide range of external and internal causes. The main ones:
- Lack of communication with adults in the first years of life. Young children need to communicate with adults. This helps them develop quickly and harmoniously, and perceive emotional signals correctly. Children who do not receive this find it difficult to express their feelings and accept love in the future.
- Cruelty, excessive severity on the part of parents. If parents are cruel to a child, often resort to punishment, are emotionally distant from him, and do not have warm feelings for him, this becomes the reason for the appearance of pronounced schizoid traits in him.
- Disturbances in the development of the fetus that arose during gestation or during labor. They are associated with oxygen deprivation, head injuries during childbirth, infections, and the use of drugs not recommended for pregnant women.
- Heredity. Close relatives of people with this disorder also often include schizoid people.
- Violations in the perception of one’s own “I”. This means that a person has little awareness of who he is, so it is difficult for him to understand what is comfortable for him and how to communicate with those around him.
At risk are:
- children raised in orphanages,
- men (this disorder is less common in women),
- children of people with schizoid disorder or with disorders that prevent them from revealing their emotional side (Asperger's syndrome, schizotypal disorder, depression).
Psychotype No. 6: Schizoid. He is also “introverted” and “closed-in-depth.”
Motivation: creativity. Let’s just be clear right away: “creativity” in this case is the desire to create something new. So, schizoids are created to create. Moreover, they will create not because they have such a goal, but because of the peculiarities of their thinking. The fact is that schizoids think differently than other psychotypes. To put it simply, for other psychotypes the thought goes from point A to point B. Points B, C, D and others are dismissed as unimportant. In a schizoid, the thought goes from point A to points B, C, D, E, E simultaneously, and none of them is rejected.
Let's look at an example.
Situation: the house is out of bread.
Thoughts of an epileptoid: “There is no bread in the house (A) - I need to go and buy (B).”
Thoughts of a schizoid: “There is no bread in the house (A) - I must go buy it (B). "Buy" …. What a boring word. Just give the money and receive the goods (B). I wish I could steal it, like in an adventure film (G). And run around the city from the police, like in the movie “Yamakashi” (D). Yes, we need to rewatch this movie! (E)".
As you understand, you can already forget about bread - your thoughts are occupied with the film. However, it is precisely this kind of thinking that allows us to talk about creativity: a schizoid finds connections and concepts where no one else would simply look for them.
Famous representatives: Schizoids go down in history as creators, inventors and great originals. Albert Einstein, mathematician Georgy Perelman, intellectual Anatoly Wasserman, poet Fyodor Tyutchev. Fictional characters: Doctor Brown from the Back to the Future trilogy.
Features: Non-standardism often leads to problems in communication - the schizoid is not understood. This is not surprising: how would you look at a person who was talking about bread, and the next second he started talking about “Yamakashi”?
Problems in communication lead to loneliness: a schizoid has few friends and practically no company. The list is complemented by his own “callousness” - a schizoid lives by intellect and therefore does not understand why logic can offend or shock someone. “After all, theoretically, there is a possibility that a brick will fall on your head! This is a fact! What is there to be offended by? L.” You should be prepared for this: a schizoid may not understand the simplest and most banal things. This lack of understanding should not be mistaken for malice.
Recognition: a schizoid is as easy to spot as a hysteroid. The fact is that representatives of the psychotype do not pay attention to appearance from the word “at all”. If a paranoid and hyperthymic person may not have time to sew on a button, then a schizoid is unlikely to sew one on, even if he is not busy with anything at all. Most likely, he will simply cover this place with other clothes. The result is “something”.
Often this “something” is complemented by a mixture of styles: trousers can be combined with sneakers, a tuxedo with a cowboy hat, a belt can be replaced with a robe belt, etc. Men often wear long beards.
Facial expressions in schizoids are of average activity, but illogical and do not correspond to the situation. This is also due to the abundance of thoughts - when talking, a schizoid often thinks about his own things, and his facial expressions react to his thoughts, and not to the words of his interlocutor. Gestures correspond to facial expressions - restrained and not always on topic.
How to sell to him: when offering something to a schizoid, you should remember about his imaginary asociality. The schizoid does not want to be alone, he is forced to be so. Therefore, when offering him something, try to focus on the mass nature of the product (they say, everyone already has it), or, in extreme cases, on authorities. It is difficult to give other recommendations, because... The schizoid probably doesn’t know what he will think about in the next minute.
Schizoid personality disorder
The schizoid type of personality disorder belongs to the category of personality disorders of the eccentric cluster. It is estimated that this disorder affects 3-7% of the population. Like all personality disorders, schizoid personality disorder (SPD) negatively affects all areas of a person's life. It complicates his socialization and can lead to difficulties in performing official duties and creating a full-fledged family.
Schizoid personalities are characterized by:
- detachment from other people, lack of sociability;
- flattening of emotional reactions;
- immersion in the inner world;
- external insensitivity to criticism or praise;
- tendency to fruitless fantasy.
Other, not always common symptoms:
- self-talk;
- poor facial expressions;
- lack of smile;
- monotonous, devoid of emotion voice.
Unlike schizotypal disorder, SPD is not characterized by phenomena of unusual perception of reality. Schizoid characteristics are formed in childhood. After adulthood, character traits only become stronger.
SPD is often combined with other types of personality disorders. It may also be accompanied by phobias, anxiety, depression and neuroses.
Schizoid personalities are divided into subtypes:
- lethargic,
- distanced,
- depersonalized,
- unemotional.
The most characteristic features of lethargic schizoids are apathy and laziness, distant ones - alienation from people, depersonalized ones - a tendency to depersonalization, unemotional ones - lack of emotions.
