Date with yourself: how to cheer up if nothing around you makes you happy

If a person is depressed, it's just a weak character

The states of human depression manifest themselves in quite a variety of ways, and, in most cases, they affect the body as a whole.
It is the complex symptoms that help specialists accurately diagnose the disease, and this, in turn, helps prescribe correct and effective treatment. As a rule, the physiological signs of depression differ from person to person.

For example, most people lose their appetite, and for some, on the contrary, it increases significantly during the period of illness. The same feature applies to problems with adequate human sleep. One patient may suffer from insomnia, while another may constantly want to sleep and feel tired around the clock.

Symptoms of depression are divided into several groups based on associated symptoms.

Symptom No. 1. Emotional manifestations of depression in humans

Without a doubt, this is the most important thing in life! And your task is to do everything to make them truly proud of you. It's difficult, but you have to cope! You need to make sure that everyone you know and even strangers think what an amazing person you are! That they had the rare happiness of seeing you, and maybe even being a little acquainted with you!

And don’t even think about behaving differently so as not to disappoint them. Therefore, before you do anything, analyze your future action: will they like it, what needs to be done, how to act and how to look so that they all feel good. And remember: only you are responsible for their positive thoughts.

Life is a very scary thing. The world is terrible, contradictory and unpredictable, and modern streets are a haven for murderers and maniacs. And nothing good is expected in the near future, so you only need to expect the worst.

Don't dare laugh too much! Remember the popular wisdom: “A lot of laughter - a lot of tears.” You can’t be happy at all, otherwise people will think you’re lucky and will deliberately put the evil eye on you. You need to prepare for a disaster in advance, and when it happens, you will be proud of yourself as a skillful predictor.

I would like to hope that you are so wise that after reading such advice, you will do exactly what you need to do. After all, when depression is a serious mental illness, it is really scary, and when people create a problem for themselves, and even cherish and cherish it, sometimes simply reveling in their condition, then some kind of shake-up is needed to get out of the adored blues.

What are the advantages and features of this awareness:

  1. You don't go there to whine, you go there to let others help you and work with you.
  2. You go there ready to accept other positive emotions from people through you.
  3. You focus only on positive people, and don’t pay attention to others and don’t see them.
  4. When you allow others to influence you positively, fears, worries and all negative emotions are repressed.

When you invite people into your company and allow them to help you in a positive way, they feel special around you.

Questions about how to help a man, girl, or loved one get out of depression will remain open if the person himself does not want help and does not ask you for it.

Take omega-3 regularly.

If you are worried about winter depression, be sure to include in your diet foods rich in omega-3 acids - fatty sea fish, flaxseed, sesame or hemp oil, walnuts, flax seeds, etc. They help improve mood even in people who need medication antidepressants3!

And omega-3 capsules will help to maximally replenish the body's need for much-needed fatty acids. We recommend paying attention to the drug with the highest dosage of omega-3 (950 mg per capsule) from a well-known Russian pharmaceutical company. It is produced from the highest quality Norwegian fish oil in a pharmaceutical facility under GMP quality standards. It is enough to take only 1 capsule of this omega* per day. Very comfortably!

Wait for your time

How to avoid depression and recover from it if the fact of its presence has already been established? Remember that depression is a disease, not a condition. How is the disease treated?

First of all, you need to see a doctor. The specialist will assess the depth and form of depression, its severity, and prescribe procedures and medications. You should not take any medications without a doctor’s prescription; as a rule, these are psychotropic drugs.

Not at all necessary. This largely depends on the severity of the depression. Psychotherapy helps many patients - they learn to control their condition and in the future can do without medications and live a full life.

Sometimes antidepressants have to be taken for a very long time - unless there are better alternatives.

It needs to be revived and carefully cultivated. Remember which of your loved ones you should help. This wonderful desire will masterfully free you from your own desires, and your life and everyday life will be planned right down to the grave. And choose between different debt options more globally.

After all, depending on the bank for accounts payable is not that, it’s somehow petty. But a lifelong debt to parents or one’s own children is exactly what is needed. Such debt obligations will help your brain develop qualitatively - after all, you will periodically have to think about what exactly and how you need to do in order to pay them off.

This is much more important. Feel this sweet feeling of sacrifice at least once. You will definitely like it. Constantly sacrifice yourself for the sake of someone, try to do it so hard that thoughts about yourself do not come to your mind.

Understand once and for all: your desires and needs are petty and unimportant, while someone else wants something more correct and important. Why think about yourself? Always think of others first, elevate others' priorities to the rank of immediate paramount importance.

And don’t even allow the thought of defending them. This can be done only in order to feel guilty, otherwise - under no circumstances! After all, for other people it is much more important.

Friends ask you to borrow a large sum - be sure to give it, and it doesn’t matter that this is not the first time and it’s irrevocable! Asking about the fate of a debt is indecent. After all, they need money much more than you do; you’ll get by somehow. It’s not beautiful to compare money and friendship.

If you are offended and humiliated, accept it, you deserve it. Colleagues are unfair to you - that’s wonderful.

You have an extra reason to suffer and get closer to the desired state of depression (see “How to get out of depression on your own”).

It’s better to understand right away: they are individuals, valuable personnel, and you are office plankton, a mediocre decoration for someone’s life. Therefore, sitting quietly and below the grass is your daily lot.

For a man to want to share his experiences, he must feel that the interlocutor is able to correctly understand and support him.

Take a break, redirect your focus from depression to other activities, such as:

  • physical exercise;
  • swimming;
  • Biking;
  • journey;
  • Reading books.

Completely and completely immerse yourself in another activity, shift your focus to it.

After a while, the problem that previously haunted you will seem petty and completely undeserving of your attention.

This way you will close your worries about how to get out of depression and believe in yourself.

Psychologists also share this effective advice.

When a person focuses on future events, he loses the moment now and is in those mental projections that, most likely, will not even happen.

In addition, due to projection into the future, a gap, an abyss, is created in consciousness.

And in this abyss, a person loses himself, which creates a huge amount of fears, worries, and a feeling of uncontrollability of what is happening. We talk in more detail about getting rid of fears here.

You can always cope with the present time, but it is impossible to cope with the projections of the mind - just as it is impossible to cope with the future.

It is not for nothing that they say: “we will resolve issues as they arise.”

Always stay in the present moment to close questions about how to get out of deep depression on your own.

Are you saying you feel bad? It could have been even worse!

Don't justify yourself and don't feel sorry.

Take action! Dominate!

You don't need psychiatrist help for depression.

Act on your own despite adversity!

Try harder!

Look at it as a journey where you learn to be even stronger than you are now.

Well, really, how could you skip this point? A sick person = an unhappy person. Yes, there are a lot of examples of people with disabilities who refute this. But why should we look at motivators when we want to become walking depressions? On the contrary, you need to get sick as quickly as possible, and suffer from it as sincerely as possible. Here's how to deal with depression.

Moreover, you must do everything to make the condition even worse, and then bite yourself for it. Let's start with alcohol. Our goal is to become addicted to wine. This is the most pleasant way to become depressed, which was invented by mankind. Well, yes, you have to enjoy life a little first, but depression requires a little sacrifice.

The task is as follows: drink until you’re blue in the face every day. We buy 0.5 vodka (it’s stronger than some wine), and drink up every day until we’re blue in the face. Oh, yes, we have a protective reflex, so what? We drink in moderation, but every day. From time to time we check to see if there is a gag reflex. The goal is to bring yourself to the point of severe intoxication, after which temporary depression is guaranteed.

Well, just imagine: yesterday you had fun (which you had to endure), and today you wake up with a terrible headache, an acute hatred of everything. Here it is very important to gnaw at yourself for yesterday's drinking and at the same time recover from your hangover. Even if it doesn’t work, you need to have a hangover. The goal is to go on a binge. Depression is definitely guaranteed there. There is not a single happy alcoholic. Most suicides are due to alcohol.

This question is a special case of questions from the “why?” series. But I would like to dwell on this case in a separate paragraph.

Some people ask: “Why do I have this? Why are these fears unknown to many people? They drink and smoke, have fun as they want, and I have to give up bad habits, practice meditation and sports in order to feel at least more or less normal. Why do I have to constantly fight this?”

My answer to this question is: “Because it is! That's all! Accept it! And work on it."

Only when you learn to calmly accept what you have now will you be able to make significant progress in the fight against your problems.

Some people are born with congenital motor defects and have to spend their entire lives in a wheelchair while you dance and play football. Why them and not you?

Some people live in constant hunger and think only about how to get some food, and not about which TV is best for their bedroom. Why them and not you?

Each person’s condition, mood and well-being are constantly changing. Easy ways and useful tips will help you avoid depression or overcome it.

In every person's life, sometimes dramatic events or other situations occur that can be difficult to cope with and easy to become depressed.

The sooner you feel and understand that you are suffering from depression while in a pre-depressive state, and take immediate measures to get out of it, the less likely it is to reach a critical point of depression.

Depression is a mental disorder that can be caused by illness, infection, poor diet, lack of rest and sleep, trouble, stress or a protracted situation that traumatizes the psyche. How hard you experience this depends on how you perceive these events and let them pass through you.

Depression can lead to:

  • chronic fatigue;
  • stress and dramatic situations;
  • lack of sunlight (short days in winter);
  • sedentary lifestyle (physical inactivity);
  • improper or poor nutrition;
  • taking medications, especially sedatives, without medical supervision;
  • headache;
  • increased blood sugar levels;
  • stomach upsets;
  • serious physical defects;
  • thyroid diseases;
  • allergy;
  • some infectious diseases (for example, influenza);
  • other diseases or non-standard situations.

Depression begins with a disorder in the part of the brain that controls mood.

Listen to how you feel and analyze your condition. If you are prone to tearfulness and pessimism or notice frequent mood swings, listen to yourself more often so as not to miss the line and not cross the line between a healthy state of mind and depression.

Depression is a mental disorder that can be triggered by illness and stress. How hard you experience this depends on how you perceive this event and let it pass through yourself.

Depressed individuals see negativity in everything, so it is more difficult for them to maintain emotional balance and adequately assess the situation. This distortion can turn a bright world into a gray and dull one.

It must be remembered that this condition is not a death sentence and cannot last forever. Changes happen gradually, you need to be patient and take care of yourself: eat well and get plenty of rest.

Be careful and patient

The process of treating depression is long and difficult. How much time and effort it will take depends on the severity of the depression (mild, moderate, severe), and on the chosen method of treatment (only taking pills, only psychotherapy, or both), and on how quickly it turned out to find the right pills and their dosage and, finally, whether it was possible to find a suitable psychotherapist. It also happens that a psychotherapist is good, but not suitable. Even if you have done everything you can and the healing process has begun, you should not expect immediate results. Don't ask: "Are you feeling better yet?" — A depressed person may feel that progress in their treatment does not meet your expectations.

Instead, it’s better to gently check from time to time whether he remembers to take his pills, whether he misses appointments with a psychiatrist and (or) psychotherapist and, if so, try to carefully find out why. For example, in psychotherapy there is such a thing as “resistance” - the patient’s subconscious opposition to the process of psychotherapy. This phenomenon is associated with a fear of change, because it is not always easy and painless to achieve a cure. Resistance in psychotherapy can be expressed in different ways, including skipping meetings or refusing to continue psychotherapy in principle. Dealing with this is the job of a psychotherapist, but a careful, confidential conversation with a loved one can also help.

Depression is the same as sadness

Often the true meaning of the word “depression” is not understood; it is identified with a state of sadness, anxiety and tension.

In fact, depression is most often accompanied by inner emptiness and lack of emotions. Yes, it is often combined with increased anxiety, but these are two different conditions.

There are different forms of depression: major depressive disorder (clinical depression); minor depression, dysthymia (a condition in which a person is in a bad mood for more than two years); atypical depression (when a bad mood is combined with other, unusual symptoms) and others. Everyone has their own set of symptoms.

Replenish your body's need for vitamin D3.

If you are interested in how to survive the winter without depression, pay special attention to the importance of adequately supplying the body with vitamins, especially vitamin D3. In winter, when there is too little sun, its deficiency is especially noticeable. But this vitamin not only helps our bones stay strong, but also helps maintain a good mood. According to the results of the study, if there is a lack of vitamin D in the body, the risk of developing depression increases by 75%1!

The optimal daily requirement for such an important nutrient is 600 IU2. A well-known Russian pharmaceutical manufacturer today produces vitamin D3 in capsules with exactly this dosage. Take 1 capsule of Vitamin D3 600 IU per day during the winter (2-3 months)*.

Depression goes away on its own

Yes, there are cases where people come out of depression on their own. But most patients need treatment. Medications help you return to a full life. Without treatment, depression can last for months or years. For example, with dysthymia it persists for two years or longer.

Depression can lead to serious complications. Patients often gain excess weight and start taking alcohol and psychotropic substances. Relationships with family and colleagues are destroyed, the person becomes withdrawn and avoids society. Some patients attempt suicide. This is why depression is life-threatening.

Depression mainly affects women

There are several types of depression that can develop in women.

From the above it follows that men suffer from depression almost 2 times less often than women. This feature is primarily explained by the high dependence of the women’s body on hormonal levels.

The lability of the nervous system of women is another reason for such statistics. Like the fair sex, emotional reactions are more pronounced. Often, it is enough for a woman to say a thoughtless word for her to develop a severe form of depression.

The duration of depression in men is significantly shorter compared to the course of female psychological disorder. Depression in women usually lasts for several months and can last for years. Only with the right treatment can you get rid of this serious disease.

Despite the fact that depression in men is not as long-lasting, the disease can develop intensively and be more severe.

According to statistics, men attempt suicide more often than women. Since the weak half of the population needs quite serious reasons for attempting suicide, rather than the loss of one or another interest in life.

As you know, women's hormonal levels are very variable.

In women, the biological causes of depression are stressful conditions in the body caused by a sharp change in hormonal levels.

Spending time with friends

If a man has several best friends who play an important role in his life, this fact should not be neglected in an attempt to improve his mood. No matter how strong his love for a woman is, communication with friends can brighten up even the most unfortunate outcome of the day. It makes absolutely no sense to be jealous of them, because every person will strive for those people who make him happy.

If a man needs his friends, it means that these people make him happier, and the happiness of his loved one should be above all else. In order for harmony to reign in relationships, family psychologists advise women to treat their man’s friends in a friendly and respectful manner. When loved ones and family are nearby and are always ready to support in difficult times, any difficulty seems solvable.

Recognize the importance of the problem

Pop culture has taught us that depression is something like the seasonal blues: Many of us have heard (or said) “I'm depressed today.”
Of course, any person experiences bouts of melancholy and depression - due to lack of sleep, problems at work, a quarrel with a loved one, and even bad weather. But as soon as the surrounding circumstances change, everything returns to normal. Depression is expressed primarily in a constant depressed state, chronic fatigue and loss of interest in things that used to please. In addition, the disease can be accompanied by various somatic manifestations: a person either suffers from insomnia, or, conversely, constantly wants to sleep.

Doesn't want sex. He cannot concentrate on anything and loses his ability to work. Loses appetite or, conversely, begins to overeat. Depression can also lead to a complete loss of interest in life, suicidal behavior and suicide. A diagnosis is made if symptoms last for at least two weeks - but depression can last for months, even years, and must be treated.

Risk factors for depression can include psychological distress or trauma, a dysfunctional family situation or lack of parental love, genetic predisposition or various diseases, as well as alcohol or drug use. Moreover, psychogenic depression (caused, for example, by the death of a loved one, divorce or violence) does not necessarily come immediately - people experience difficult events in different ways, and sometimes the reaction to them comes with a delay.

Suggest using modern features

Depression doesn't often go away on its own—but even if it does, it can return. According to statistics, 50% of people who have had a depressive episode in their lives will have another one after some time, and 80% of people who have two depressive episodes in their medical history will sooner or later have a third.

So if you suspect depression, a person should definitely see a specialist - first of all, a psychiatrist, who can prescribe medications if necessary. True, this step is also very difficult for many to decide: going to the doctor is considered something like a “last resort”, an admission of defeat.

Your loved one may be seriously afraid to go to the doctor because of the fear that they will label him “mentally ill,” “put him on the register,” or even “put him in the dark.” In fact, psychiatric registration was abolished back in the early 90s, and a person can only be admitted to a hospital against their will by a court decision - or if the person poses a threat to himself and is not able to take care of himself.

Tell the depressed person that more and more people are going to therapy and it really helps. After all, with a fracture, your friend would go to the surgeon - and in this case, you need to see a doctor. Offer to help find a psychiatrist, offer to drive the person to an appointment, or simply show them off. But under no circumstances should you shame or force.

If you're depressed, it's helpful to monitor how your mood changes over time. There are many paid and free mobile applications for this. When creating such applications, developers usually rely on cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.
