How Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Works for Insomnia

You should aim for 90 percent efficiency, meaning almost all of your time in bed should be spent sleeping.
  • When sleep efficiency exceeds 90% during the week, increase your time in bed by 30 minutes. If your sleep time also increases next week, go to bed another half hour earlier, and so on. But if your sleep efficiency begins to decline, reduce your time in bed again.

Sleep only in bed and nowhere else. Don't take naps and consume less caffeine. But the most important thing is to get up at the same time every day, even on weekends.
