Reviews from parents about the use of Semax for children

Since the drug is often prescribed to children to improve their cognitive abilities, we collected reviews from parents who have used this medication:

Arina: “The doctor prescribed medication to my son at the age of 3.5 years due to delayed speech development. After several days of taking it, I noticed an improvement in attentiveness and perseverance. We really have become better at speaking. The course of treatment lasted a month, and during this time the son became hyperactive, although the doctor claimed that the medication had no effect on this.”

Irina: “My daughter was prescribed drops to improve her memory. Of course, the method of administration was unusual, and the child was not enthusiastic about nasal drops, but the result was not long in coming. As a result of treatment, memory improved and attention increased. My daughter even started learning a second foreign language. Among the disadvantages, I can highlight the high cost of the drug.”

Anna: “The child was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, after consultation with a doctor we bought Semax drops. The course of treatment is a month. During this time, we rewrote the bad tests, my daughter began to spend more time studying independently and her perseverance noticeably increased. I think the drug is a good remedy. The main thing is to store it in the refrigerator so that it does not lose its properties. Expensive, like all nootropics, but there were no allergies, which I consider a big plus.”

pharmachologic effect

Semax is a neuroactive peptide derived from corticotropin with the structure PRO8-Gly9-PRO10 (ACTH). The drug's effect has been described as being 1000 times stronger than Nootropil (Piracetam), making it similar to Noopept, Sunifiram and Unifam at similar concentrations. Since 2011, Semax has been classified as a vital and essential medicine in Russia.

Clinical applications of the drug are common in Russia and Ukraine, where it is prescribed for its neuroprotective and neurorestorative properties. This effect is especially beneficial for ischemic stroke survivors who have suffered from any form of traumatic brain injury. Also - the drug is used in the treatment of cognitive disorders, degenerative disorders of the optic nerve and during the progression of peptic ulcers.

The essence of the functioning of the constituent chemical compounds of Semax is to modulate the receptors of the limbic reticular system, as well as the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, dopamine, serotonin, adenosine, histamine and others. Semax also activates NMDA glutamate receptors in the central and peripheral nervous systems and improves the energy metabolism of brain neurons.

In addition, the drug increases the synthesis of neurotrophins, proteins and other biosubstrates involved in the protection and restoration of neurons, and also reduces the level and quality of inflammatory reactions. This drug exhibits highly neuroprotective properties and is often prescribed to increase the mRNA of nerve growth factor, its effect in this reaches 500%, and in neurotropic growth factor of neuronal derivatives of the central nervous system - by 800%.

The purported benefits of Semax are extensive and can be prescribed to stimulate memory, learning, alertness, reasoning, perception, concentration, overall energy, immune system function, and even as a mood enhancer.

Many of these benefits are derived from the psychostimulant effects of the drug. Moreover, Simax is free of negative side effects that usually go hand in hand with central nervous system stimulants.

In some application experiences and reviews, Semax is credited with the properties of a drug that actively reduces the perception of mental stress and allows the patient to enjoy a more productive quality of life, both at the cognitive and physical levels. Experience often shows that this drug increases the ability to solve various cognitive tasks, which will be easier, faster and with less effort.

Other benefits of Simax related to learning and memory development are that the drug increases neuroplasticity and enhances glutamatergic connections and cholinergic activity. While taking Semax, there is an improvement in the brain's adaptive potential to external sources of stress and a significant reduction in symptoms of fatigue after long hours of exhaustive mental work. It may be useful in treating depression, anxiety, and even sleep disorders, the negative effects that occur when dopamine and serotonin are deficient.

There is also the possibility of using Semax in alternative support for reducing the quality of symptoms in Alzheimer's disease and other degenerative cognitive disorders, as well as memory loss due to aging. With such a wide range of mechanisms of action, Semax has one of the greatest research potentials in the coming years.

The drug affects the nervous system. The effect is noticeable even with low dosage and rare use. Effect of the drug: nootropic, antihypoxic, cerebroprotective, antioxidant. 5 minutes after administration (nasal route), the active substances penetrate the blood-brain barrier. The effect lasts for a day - the reason is consistent degradation and fragmentary effects.

The drug Semax stimulates basal nuclear cholinergic neurons of the forebrain, reduces neuronal tissue death due to nitrogen oxides, local inflammation, impaired cell nutrition, and lack of oxygen. After its use, the production of substances that participate in the development of nerve cells - neurotrophins - increases.

The medicine does not have a toxic or harmful effect and does not cause allergies. Improves concentration, memory, work during hypoxia, weakened cerebral blood supply. The method of administration is intranasal, up to 60-70% of the active substance enters the body from the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity.

Semax nasal drops at a dosage of 0.1% are prescribed for problems with memory and concentration, and for vascular damage to the brain.

Their use is appropriate during recovery from stroke, circulatory and nervous system disorders. The drug helps withstand radiation exposure and other extreme situations.

Reduces mental fatigue when performing a large amount of monotonous work.

The drug "Semax" is a drug that belongs to the class of regulatory peptides and has nootropic, psychostimulating, neuroprotective, antioxidant and antihypoxic effects. According to research, it helps improve mental and physical performance. In Russia it is included in the list of vital medicines. It is not used in practice in other countries.

The drops are in a special, closed bottle. To start using, you need to carefully cut off the tip of the pipette in the marked place. Further storage must be with a tightly closed cap.

SEMAX for delayed speech development and ADHD for a child - review

Alexandra @mertie22

2019-03-03 08:29

Semax was prescribed to us by a neurologist for delayed speech development and ADHD. The child is 4 years old. Semax is a nasal drop with nootropic properties that improves attention and memory. These droplets are available in two forms - 0.1% and 1%. We were prescribed 0.1% drops.

The price for this bottle in pharmacies in our city varies from 350 to 500 rubles, you must agree, it’s a little expensive for 3 ml.

The pipette, in my personal opinion, is not very convenient; it is difficult to calculate whether exactly two drops got into the child.

The drug should be stored ONLY IN THE REFRIGERATOR! Otherwise, it completely loses its properties.

Now about the effect of the drug. It really improves attention and memory. The child has become more assiduous. He began to memorize little poems that had previously been completely useless to learn with him. But there are downsides here too. While taking the drug, we began to have problems with daytime sleep, which had not previously been observed. After stopping the course, my sleep pattern was restored again.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND SEMAX. But not because I didn’t like him, but because I’m not a doctor. I believe that all drugs used in neurology should be taken only as prescribed by a doctor, especially when it comes to children.

"Memoplant"

Each Memoplant tablet contains forty grams of ginkgo biloba leaf extract. The main indications for the use of this drug are visual and hearing impairments of vascular origin, cognitive deficits of various origins, and Raynaud's syndrome. Judging by the reviews of patients, the drug affects the ability to drive a car and operate complex machinery, so you should be careful during treatment. As a rule, take one tablet three times a day with meals, drinking plenty of clean drinking water. The following side effects may occasionally occur: vomiting, nausea, swelling, itching, rash, headache, dizziness, redness of the skin. Bleeding has rarely occurred due to prolonged use of the medication.
